This year Merrickville Cruise and Shop will celebrate its 10 year anniversary show on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 8am – 4pm. Come visit historic Merrickville where, along with the many fine dining and shopping experiences, you will enjoy many attractions this year’s Cruise and Shop has to offer. Some of the same events will return again this year such as the Merrickville Fire Dept BBQ, Cruising on the Rideau King along the Rideau River, Kilmarnock Orchard shuttle service throughout the show, prize draws, music in the park all day, End of show cruise down St Lawrence Street and the popular 50/50 draw. Last year’s winner took home over $750.00.
This year’s show will find many new and exciting events to round off the day.

Merrickville First Classic Car Auction- If you want to add to your existing collection or are interested in purchasing your first classic car, come out and enjoy a unique opportunity to bid on a car that could be yours to take home. Dan Peters Auction will be on site at The Merrickville Classic Car Show to sell by way of public auction, Classic Cars. Starting at 11am, the classic car auction will take place in the outdoor ring (located directly in front of the Merrickville Community Center). Eddy and the Stingrays- Live Rock n' Roll entertainment featuring music from the 50's and 60's. Performance by Eddy and the Stingrays from 12:30pm to 3:30pm at the community center. Bring your lawn chairs, come out and enjoy the show. This is a free show for everyone.We will also have back the traveling Jazz band, Swing Bridge Band and music in the park by Hound Sound.
New this year will be music provided by Hugh Colton of Town and Country Chrysler. He will be set up behind the community center with his special display of classic cars. Hugh will also bring Harold Frizzle for live music from the 50’s and 60’s.

Insurance Bureau of Canada Simulator- The Insurance Bureau of Canada will be setting up their driving simulator (D.U.M.B. Car). This simulator will show drivers how distractions affect their driving. This is free to try for anyone with a driver’s license. It will be an eye opener for everyone and is located near the park.

Odessa Mater- New to the Merrickville show, a special guest appearance by Mater. Come have your photo taken with Mater the tow truck. Mater is a replica of the tow truck in the classic children’s movie, Cars


REMAX Alliance Hot Air Balloon Rides
-Have you ever wondered what it would be like riding high in the sky? Come enjoy hot air balloon rides - open to all car show participants (weather/wind permitting).

There will be more vendors this year displaying some of their special items. A few of the local favorites will be; Back Bumper License Plates, A & W, and Thunder dome racing just to mention a few.
